How to Hang Your Flag on a Wall: Grommeted Flag with Hanging Clips
Using hanging clips is a fairly common way to hang a custom flag. This method does not involve thumbtacks, hammers, or dorm room shenanigans.
What you'll need:
- Flag
- Tape measure
- Screws
- Hanging clips (optional)
- A tall friend or step ladder
Step One: Measure and Align
To begin, use a tape measure to level the wall space perpendicular to the floor where you are going to hang your flag. This will help make sure it hangs straight.
Step Two: Mark Top Edge With Tape
Once you've decided where the top (left-headered grommeted portion) of the flag will go, mark it with painters tape or masking tape.
Step Three: Install the Screws
Just like you would do while hanging a picture, line up the screws in place on the wall where the clips will attach to the grommets on your flag. Screw them into the wall, avoiding any studs.
Step Four: Free the Hanging Clips
Release the two hanging clips from their packaging. Clip them to the screws on your wall.
Step Five: Hanging the Flag
Take your flag and unfurl either side. Grasp one grommeted part in your hand and attach the grommet to the hanging clip. Repeat this process with the other grommeted part. You now have a flag hanging on your wall.
How to Hang Your Custom Flag Vertically: Using Pole Pockets
Pole pockets are great for wall mounting a flag vertically. This method gives a regal look to your flag. You have commonly seen these flags hung at churches or banquet halls.
What you'll need:
- Flag
- Tape measure
- Screws
- Pole
Step One: Measure
Just like the aforementioned hanging method, you must measure out where you would like to place the banner on your wall. Make certain it is level.
Step Two: Screws
Put the screws into the wall where you would like your banner to hang.
Step Three: Pole Pocket and Pole Placement
Locate the pole pocket on the left-headered side of the banner. Insert the pole or dowel into the sleeve.
Step Four: Hang the Banner
Take your banner and hang it on the wall. Congrats, you're done.
