What option is the best overall for outdoor use?
The best product for outdoor use is either mesh banners or 18-oz. heavy-duty matte vinyl banners. Mesh banner material is designed to be wind friendly It uses a crisscrossed fiber pattern for maximum airflow.
If you also have an indoor event, then we also offer several other options including fabric and canvas banners, retractable banners and banner stands, text only banners, and step and repeat banners.
What is the expected lifespan of outdoor banners, and how can I extend their durability?
With proper care and maintenance, you should expect your outdoor banners to last for 1+ years. To help further extend your banners lifespan we recommend using bungees in all the grommets when installing. Bungees help to evenly distribute tension to all the grommets, reducing the likelihood of a tear. We also recommend taking down your outdoor banner if at all possible in the event of harsh or extreme weather conditions.
What colors are these products printed in?
With our vinyl banner printing process, all of our products are printed in full CMYK colors! If you need a custom color, our friendly customer service team is happy to help. They’re available live Monday-Friday, 8-5pm CST.
What are the finishing options for outdoor banners?
Vinyl
- 13 oz. vinyl banners are available in both glossy and matte material.
- Glossy finish has a high shine effect and accentuates printed graphics.
- Matte finish has low shine. It is ideal for showing off colors.
- 18 oz. vinyl banners are only available in matte finish.
- Hems and Grommets
- Hems are folded behind the banner and welded together with heat.
- Reinforced hems
- These hems are a strong web-like material that is heat welded to the perimeter of the banner to provide reinforcement.
- Reinforced corners
- These are a triangle piece of vinyl applied to the corners of the banner and secured with grommets. They help improve strength and durability of the banner corners.
- Grommets are added every 2-4 feet and are used to hang the banner.
- Grommets are about ½ inch in diameter, made of #2 brass.
- We recommend using all of them when hanging your banner.
- Pole Pockets
- Pole pockets are sleeve-like pockets added to allow a pole or dowel to be run through the sleeve to help support the banner. Note: If you select a pole pocket option, then there will be no additional increase in the finished banner size.
- Pole Pocket Options
- 2" Pole Pockets - fits a pole 3/4" in diameter
- 3" Pole Pockets - fits a pole 1 1/4" in diameter
- 4" Pole Pockets - fits a pole 1 1/2" in diameter
- Pole pockets are not available with reinforced hems or corners.
Mesh
- The mesh banners offer wind resistance and are finished with heat-welded hems and grommets.
- Hems are folded behind the banner and then heated until they seal.
- Grommets are placed every 2-4 feet around the perimeter. They are used to hang the banners.
Can I add photographs to my signs and banners?
Yes, you can absolutely add photos to your outdoor signs! Use the online design tool to upload them or work with a friendly graphic designer.
What is the minimum quantity of products that I can order?
The minimum amount you can order of each product is one. If you are choosing to order more than one, we do offer a bulk discount!
What are the benefits of using a mesh banner vs. a vinyl banner?
A mesh banner is specialized for windy or harsh conditions – and designed to endure the outdoor elements. The mesh design lets wind pass through without damaging the material. It can be used on windows where light needs to come in.
Will my design lose any detail with the mesh material?
Your design will lose some detail simply because of the nature of the fabric. The 70/30 vinyl to hole ratio still allows for the majority of the detail to be displayed. But 30% of all detail will be lost if printed on mesh.
If you would like to retain more detail, we recommend our 18-oz. extra heavy duty matte option.
What design features are available for outdoor banners?

How should I hang my outdoor banner securely?
Hems and grommets, as well as pole pockets, can be added to your outdoor vinyl banner. We recommend using ball bungees on ALL grommets provided if you choose the hems and grommets option. This will equally distribute the pressure, resulting in a clean and wrinkle-free banner and help to extend the lifespan.

We always recommend hanging our banners with ball bungees, it is our preferred hanging method. Ball bungees are simply the best option for hanging standard size banners. These bungees are designed to give the banner both hold as well as flexibility. This helps ensure that it stays in place and doesn’t get damaged.
Pole Pockets
- Our pole pockets are another method for hanging. There will be no increase in the finished size of your banner if you choose pole pockets. Pole pockets can be 2", 3", or 4".

How long does vinyl banner printing take?
Our printing services come with several flexible options to fit your needs. Our standard production time is 3 business days. We also offer 1-2 business day production options, for a slightly higher price, and a 5 business day production time option, for a slightly lower price. What is the maximum size my custom banner can be?
